Job summary

East Side House in the Bronx is seeking a Student Advisor to support college and career readiness, monitor academic progress, and address day-to-day student issues within our community school framework.

Under the Community School Director, you will engage with students, parents, and staff, coordinating with partner schools to foster student success and development through collaborative planning and targeted guidance.

Qualifications

• B.A./B.S.W. with at least two years’ experience with youth-related work.
• Excellent verbal, analytical, writing, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with school aged youth, educators, families and communities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary advisor for assigned cohort of students.
• Conduct regular one-on-one sessions with students, at least twice a month.
• Assist students with college and career readiness activities.
• Collaborate with families and staff to develop individualized student plans.
• Document interactions in data systems and monitor attendance; provide status updates as needed.
