Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field.
• Proven ability to work with diverse populations.
• Ability to maintain accurate and effective student advising documentation as required by the U. S. Department of Education / Office of Postsecondary Education.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, technical and written communication skills.
• Must maintain a valid Kansas driver’s license and provide documentation of such.

Responsibilities

• Understand and support the College mission and student-centered learning goals.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with staff, faculty, administration and students.
• Serve as point of contact for new and continuing students through onboarding and enrollment processes.
• Guide and assist students in degree and educational program declarations.
• Assess academic and transfer needs related to degree and program selection.
• Provide comprehensive advising and counseling on curriculum and program selection.
• Verify enrollment in required courses by conducting degree audits.
• Assist with FAFSA completion and scholarship applications as needed.
• Provide guidance to encourage persistence, retention, and success.
• Refer students to tutoring, Learning Resource Center, counseling and grant programs.
• Utilize SIS, communication software, Microsoft Outlook, Google and Etrieve.
• Participate in professional development as designated by DCCC.
• Other duties as assigned.
