Adams State University seeks an SSS Academic Coordinator to provide proactive academic advising, track grades, and support cognitive skill development for underrepresented students. The role focuses on removing academic barriers and helping students complete their goals.

Responsibilities include advising using Workday data, monitoring early alerts, developing Plan of Action, hiring tutors with GTLC, shaping placement and assessments, and recording data for APR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a closely related field.
• Experience in postsecondary educational standards, student assessment models, and database management.
• Minimum 1 year of coordinating student assessment, advising projects, and curriculum development.
• Minimum 1 year of direct college-level academic advising and collaboration across campus support networks.
• Experience implementing retention strategies to improve cumulative GPAs.

Responsibilities

• Proactive academic advising using Workday to review records and GPAs.
• Monitor early alerts and grade reports, addressing grades below a C.
• Build and review monthly Plan of Action (POA) with each participant.
• Coordinate tutor hiring and GTLC collaboration for early interventions.
• Design and implement academic assessment standards and placements.
• Log advising notes and data into the BLUMEN database for APR reports.
• Support intake, interviews, and rubric evaluations for the Summer Scholars Bridge Program.
