Job summary

The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking a Staff Writer for Insight Magazine. You will produce 2–3 articles per volume for print and online, with stories ranging 400–1,000 words and deadlines set by the Editor‑in‑Chief and Copy Editor. You will also help ensure volunteer writers adhere to the chosen theme.

You'll attend weekly meetings, revise drafts with the Copy Editor, and distribute Insight Magazines. This is a student employee role in Nevada with 6 hours per week and a $12.00/hour pay.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Google Docs/Drive for drafting and collaboration.
• Familiarity with AP citation style for academic/campus publications.
• Broad experience writing and reading diverse content across topics.

Responsibilities

• Create textual content for Insight’s print magazine and website.
• Revise articles based on feedback from Copy Editor and Editor‑in‑Chief.
• Fix spelling/grammatical issues with Copy Editor.
• Adhere to strict deadlines.
• Attend weekly staff meetings.
