University of Kentucky is seeking a Student Shift Manager for an off-campus entertainment center in Lexington, KY. The role supports daily operations, leads the shift team, and ensures guests have a great experience.

Part-time or full-time hours, with several on evenings, weekends, and holidays. You will supervise staff, coordinate guest services, and help manage cash and shift tasks while upholding safety and cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, support, and direct employees during each shift.

  • Assist with birthday parties, group events, and guest experiences.
  • Support operations at front counter, attractions, bar, kitchen, or other areas.
  • Train and coach employees and clarify expectations.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are followed by staff.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety throughout the facility.
  • Handle opening and closing responsibilities and shift-related tasks.
  • Manage cash, payments, and other shift duties.
  • Address problems promptly and find practical solutions.
  • Communicate important updates to management.
  • Step in as needed to support the team and guest experience.

Preferred Education/Experience

Beneficial but not required:

  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or management experience
  • Experience working in hospitality, entertainment, restaurants, retail, or another customer-focused environment
  • Experience managing or leading a team of employees
  • Experience with cash handling and opening/closing procedures
  • Experience handling customer complaints or resolving difficult situations
  • Knowledge or experience with food, beverage, or bar operations
  • Experience working with parties, events, or large groups

Job Summary

The Shift Manager plays a key role in the daily operation of our entertainment center. This person is responsible for helping lead the team, ensuring guests have a great experience, and making sure the facility runs smoothly throughout each shift. Looking for part time or full time.

  • Ensuring employees are completing their responsibilities and following company policies and procedures
  • Helping maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety throughout the facility
  • Handling opening and closing responsibilities
  • Managing cash, payments, and other shift-related administrative responsibilitiesAddressing problems as they arise and using good judgment to find solutions
  • Communicating important information, concerns, and updates to the management team
  • Stepping in wherever needed to support the team and ensure a great guest experience
