Job summary

Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) seeks a Student Services Specialist to provide comprehensive enrollment services to new and returning students. You will work with the Contact Center, Welcome Desk, Admissions, Records & Registration teams, supporting testing, advising, financial aid, veterans’ services, and international student services across multiple channels.

The role emphasizes data management in CRM/SIS, collaboration on special projects, and occasional evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree and one year of student services or college teaching experience, or related coordination/financial aid experience.
  • One year of customer service with significant public interaction.
  • Experience in admissions, records, registration, advisement, or financial aid roles.
  • Experience using student services systems (PeopleSoft, Salesforce/ASSIST, Cranium Cafe).
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications.
  • One year of MCCCD experience within the previous two years.

Responsibilities

  • Provide enrollment services to prospective and current students across admissions, testing, registration, financial aid, veterans' and international programs via multiple channels (in-person, phone, chat, text).
  • Collect, enter, verify, and maintain student data in CRM/SIS and related systems; review applications and request documents as needed.
  • Support team operations, train staff, and provide evening coverage; participate in cross-functional committees and backup One Stop staff.
  • Assist with enrollment-related projects and deliver presentations as required.

Job Summary

In a learning college environment, this role provides comprehensive enrollment services to new and returning students. The position collaborates closely with the Contact Center, Welcome Desk, and Admissions, Records & Registration teams, while also supporting related areas such as testing, advising, financial aid, veterans' services, and international student services. Support is delivered through multiple channels, including in-person, phone, chat, and text, using a variety of technology systems to guide students through the enrollment process.

Essential Functions

This role supports students and enrollment services, with responsibilities spanning direct student interaction, data management, team collaboration, and special projects.

Student Support (55%): Provides comprehensive assistance to prospective and current students across key enrollment areas, including admissions, placement testing, registration, financial aid, veterans' services, international programs, career services, and transfer requirements. Primary support is delivered via phone, with additional service provided in person at the Welcome Desk and through email, chat, and text.

Data Management (20%): Collects, enters, updates, and verifies student information in systems such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Student Information System (SIS), and Amazon Connect. Reviews and processes student applications for accuracy, requests additional documentation as needed, and ensures student records are maintained in compliance with applicable laws, policies, and regulations.

Team Collaboration & Training (15%): Supports team operations by training staff, directing temporary workers, and providing evening coverage as needed. Actively participates in cross-functional committees to advance institutional goals. Provides backup support to the One Stop support staff.

Special Projects (10%): Assists with enrollment-related initiatives, processes documents, and delivers presentations to groups as required. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution, and one (1) year full-time of student services or college teaching experience, or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, customer service, or related student development programs.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above, sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications
  1. At least one (1) year of experience in a customer service role with significant public interaction.
  2. At least one (1) year of experience, preferably in a high-volume call center environment.
  3. Experience in admissions, records, registration, advisement, or financial aid-related roles.
  4. Experience using student services systems such as a Student Information System (e.g., PeopleSoft), a Customer Relationship Management system (e.g., Salesforce, ASSIST), or student services management tools (e.g., Cranium Cafe).
  5. Proficiency with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office applications.
  6. One (1) year of full-time, relevant MCCCD experience within the previous two (2) years.
Special Working Conditions

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver's License, and/or First Aid certification may be required for some assignments.
