Job summary

University of Virginia Physicians Group is seeking an Operation Assistant to support the Newcomb Hall & 1515 operations, assisting with student activities and academic spaces on Grounds. The role provides front-line customer service, reception, and project support as a work-study position.

Applicants must be a current UVA student with federal work-study for 2025-2026. Hours vary across day/evening shifts Sunday–Saturday; some shifts may require lifting up to 30 lbs and a valid driver's license.

• Education: Current UVA student; Federal Work Study Required.
• Experience: None.
• Licensure: None.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to all clients.
• Enforce policies and procedures and ensure compliance.
• Present UVA as a welcoming gateway at Information Desk & 1515.
• Perform daily rounds and communicate issues to staff.
• Provide reception duties including answering phones and greeting visitors.
• Set up facilities and equipment for events and meetings.
• Monitor spaces during reservations and assist with equipment as needed.
• Learn proper procedures for equipment and rentals at Information Desk & 1515.
• Cover assigned shifts and be flexible for additional shifts.
• Other duties as assigned.
