Job summary

University of Virginia Physicians Group is seeking student assistants for fall 2026 and spring 2027. The roles involve donor outreach, event staffing, research, data work, and communications, with a focus on supporting UVA’s community and alumni engagement.

Positions run 14 weeks per semester, 10–15 hours weekly, and require attendance at a weekly 30-minute Zoom meeting. Undergraduate, graduate, and PhD students may apply; federal work-study preferred.

Qualifications

• Preference for Federal Work Study eligible applicants.
• Must be able to attend weekly 30-minute Zoom meetings during work hours.
• Comfortable with donor/alumni outreach and attending local events.

Responsibilities

• Stewardship: thank donors through phone calls, emails, letters, and short videos; assist with Thank-a-donor day logistics.
• Events: staff events, draft briefing books and bios, coordinate logistics and office support.
• Research: conduct prospect research, identify funding priorities, create presentations.
• Data: create lists, analyze data sets, visualize data.
• Communications: draft emails/invitations, liaise with student groups.
• Career Development: manage A-School Alumni Mentorship Program, assist with matching pods and newsletters.
