Job summary

The UCLA Fielding School of Public Health seeks a Student Services Advisor to support communications with current and prospective Public Health majors, minors, and pre-majors. The role also handles event logistics for students, faculty and staff and coordinates scheduling for classes and offerings.

The SSA will demonstrate strong organizational and written/oral communication skills, helping to ensure smooth office operations and responsive student services in a dynamic academic environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working in student services/affairs or a university setting.
• Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience with OASIS and Google applications.
• Ability to coordinate events with vendors and locations.
• Strong problem-solving, judgment and discretion.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and backgrounds.
• Knowledge of student advising and counseling.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Support student communications for current and prospective Public Health majors, minors and pre-majors.
• Assist with logistics for annual, quarterly and ad hoc student events for students, faculty and staff.
• Oversee class scheduling and coordinate quarterly, summer and annual offerings based on programmatic needs.
