At Pathfinder Career Academy of Ohio, students grades6-10 will receive an online public-school curriculum that focuses on career exploration, career development, and college or career preparation. We are seeking teachers who are excited to create a rigorous and nurturing classroom environment that prioritizes student learning and social-emotional development. ACCEL Schoolsuses a cutting-edge 21st-century curriculum, which can be accessed online and through a variety of traditional methods.Please note – while this is an online school position and all instruction occurs virtually, travel and face to face attendance will be required several times per year to support in person state tasting and student events.

About the Opportunity

  • Creates and implements identification and intervention plans for non-engaged students
  • Oversees creation and implementation of student onboarding and orientation plans
  • Creates and delivers Professional Development for staff on the topic of student social emotional well-being and engagement
  • Develops methods to use of data to determine and respond to student needs
  • In collaboration with the administrative team creates and implements career advising and school wide positive behavior programming
  • Oversee Advisory sessions and implementation of Life Skills curriculum
  • Facilitates identification of student barriers to learning and connection to appropriate services and resources
  • Works collaboratively with Accel National team members on program creation, implementation, and measurement
  • Collaborates closely with Head of School to craft student supports and programs that will promote desired student academic outcomes
  • Designs and implements proactive community outreach and communication efforts
  • Creates forms and processes to support implementation of Student Code of Conduct
  • Documents disciplinary actions per established process and maintains all disciplinary data as required for state reporting purposes
  • Supports Head of School in responding to disciplinary situations in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders (administrators, school staff, students, families)

About You

  • Master’s Degree in Education or Social Services
  • 5+ years of experience in the K-12 educational setting
  • A fundamental understanding of Career and Technical Education (CTE), it’s indicators as measurements of success, and the pathway approach in which CTE is implemented
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite Products
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and exhibit sound judgment while maintaining that confidentiality
  • Demonstrates a reliable, dependable, and trustworthy work ethic
  • Ability to manage difficult or emotional client situations
  • Ability to make sound judgments after all available information has been gathered or communicated
  • Demonstrates a mature attitude and insight into matters affecting department, self and / or company welfare
  • Demonstrated leadership and management ability
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure, effectively prioritizing and executing tasks to meet deadlines consistently
  • Customer service oriented
  • Ability to learn new technologies and acquire new skills through independent study, professional training, and from more senior team members
  • Prior administrative assistance experience preferred
  • Prior experience working in a school setting preferred
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
  • Understanding and ability to manage confidential information
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs
  • Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
