Job description

CORA Services is a dynamic and growing not for profit organization in Philadelphia. For more than 50 years, CORA has served children and families experiencing emotional, academic, and social challenges that impact their development and productivity. Our mission is to empower children, young people, and families to thrive through quality and compassionate service.
We have an immediate temporary opportunity for a Youth Services Coordinator to join our Restorative Justice team. This is a remote position and targeted rate of pay is $23.00 - $25.30 per hour.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Uphold the mission, vision, and values of CORA Services
  • Facilitate youth programming that combines social justice education and conflict resolution education
  • Provide mentorship to youth leaders who assist with the facilitation of the program
  • Help develop and update curriculum when needed in order to stay up to date with best practices
  • Coordinate intake and registration for youth programming on a weekly basis
  • Coordinate program-related data collection on a monthly basis
  • Handle logistics and lesson prep for youth programming each week including sending invitations and reminders for programming; ordering refreshments and other supplies; maintaining inventory of supplies; preparing program site; assembling office supplies and tech equipment; and closing program site when workshop is concluded
  • Represent the program through outreach presentations, community partner meetings, coalition meetings, and other methods for community engagement
  • Maintain relationships with community partners to coordinate logistics for programming and explore new collaborations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

**This position requires the availability to work a flexible schedule including facilitation of programs that end later than 5pm; start time will be adjusted in these cases to maintain 8-hour shifts

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED (preferred, not required) plus a combination of education, training, and/or experience relevant to restorative/transformative justice, conflict resolution and/or community organizing
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating workshops, presentations, or other educational material to the public
  • Understanding of and commitment to racial justice and prison abolition, economic justice, disability justice, and gender liberation, with the ability to develop supportive and trusting relationships with people directly impacted by these issues
  • Knowledge of the systemic causes of gun violence within marginalized communities
  • An interest in and/or aptitude to learn the framework of restorative/transformative justice
  • Experience working with children strongly preferred
  • Experience with general office administration; excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal abilities including strong written and oral communication
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word & Excel, and willingness to learn and use new technology
  • Qualified bilingual applicants and/or those with lived experience & direct knowledge of the issues this program seeks to address are encouraged to apply
