About Ensemble (a Blue Clay Health practice)

Ensemble is a concierge practice dedicated to families and individuals facing serious or multi-layered medical situations. We pair each client with a seasoned Care Navigator who handles the behind-the-scenes work that too often blocks access to timely, affordable care. Your expertise lets families focus on their health while you help then navigate the system.

If you’re currently a health care case manager or similar role with deep knowledge of the administration of the health care system, you could be a great fit.

Here’s what you’ll do:

• Coordinate Care: Book, move, and align specialist visits, imaging, therapies, and follow-ups so the right providers see the client at the right time.
• Resolve Insurance Complications: Prepare and track prior authorizations, appeal denials, and translate policy language into clear action steps.
• Advocate on Bills: Review Explanation of Benefits versus invoices, correct coding errors, and negotiate payment plans or discounts.
• Curate Records: Obtain, organize, and share medical records and results so every clinician has the full picture.
• Connect Resources: Identify community programs, travel logistics, or financial assistance that ease the family’s burden.

Ideal Background

• 5+ years in hospital case management, utilization review, billing advocacy, or similar role.
• Deep working knowledge of U.S. healthcare workflows (referrals, coding basics, payer portals).
• Empathetic communicator who can simplify the complex and keep meticulous notes.
• Tech-comfortable: able to learn secure online tools for documentation and calls.
• Eligible to work in the U.S. as an independent contractor (you’ll receive a year-end 1099 form).
• Compensation: $25–$65 per hour, based on experience and location.
• Schedule: Most work is on your own time and can be done around your other obligations.
• Set your time commitment (minimum ~5 hrs/week) and scale up as demand allows.
• Location: Fully remote; serve clients nationwide from wherever you are.
