Job summary

Penn State Altoona is seeking a dedicated Student Services Assistant (Intermediate or Senior) to support DEIB and the Division of Student Affairs. This full-time, on-site role serves as the first point of contact for visitors, students, and staff, helping with offices operations, events, and the campus food pantry.

The position emphasizes a welcoming, inclusive environment and professional conduct, with occasional evening/weekend hours for events.

Qualifications

Requires Associate Degree and 4+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
GED or HS diploma with 2+ years of relevant experience for Intermediate level.
No certifications required.

Responsibilities

Serve as the front-line greeter for DEIB and Student Affairs spaces; assess visitor needs and direct them appropriately.
Provide administrative support including scheduling, communications, financial processing, and record keeping.
Support and maintain the campus food pantry including shopping, stocking shelves, transporting items, and inventory management.
Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of events and programs hosted by DEIB and Student Affairs.
Maintain a professional, welcoming, and organized environment within the offices.
Collaborate with staff to enhance student engagement and support initiatives.
Occasional evening and weekend hours required for special events.
