Job summary

San José State University is seeking an Orientation Program Coordinator to lead the coordination of transition programs for first-year and transfer students, including orientation planning and student leader development.

The Coordinator will also assist with the organization and execution of new students and assist with parent/family orientation programs, which introduce incoming students and their family members to the university community and its resources, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college with related coursework.
• Three years of professional student services experience.
• Master’s degree may substitute for one year (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement large-scale orientation programs.
• Coordinate Orientation Leader activities and training.
• Develop materials for online orientation and campus partner communications.
• Assist with assessment and surveys to improve programs.
• Manage schedules, rooms, vendors, and participant communications.
