Job summary

San José State University seeks an Orientation Program Coordinator to lead the planning and execution of new student and family orientation, working closely with campus partners to ensure a welcoming, informative experience.

You will supervise Orientation Leaders, coordinate events, develop presentations, manage Spartan Link content, and help assess programs to improve first-year outcomes.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college; three years of professional student services work experience.
• Master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience; a doctorate may substitute for more.
• Ability to plan and implement large-scale events and provide high-quality customer service in a demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement orientation programs offered to new students prior to each semester.
• Coordinate First year and Transfer Orientation activities, including logistics and debrief meetings.
• Arrange food services, facilitators, and rooms to accommodate participants.
