Job summary

The California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) seeks a Director of New Student and Family Programs to lead orientation, First-Year Experience, and family programming, driving inclusive, data-informed services that enhance student belonging and success.

Under the AVP and Dean of Students, this role oversees strategic planning, budgeting, staffing, and cross-campus collaboration to elevate new student transitions and overall student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in managerial role; higher education preferred.
• Minimum three years of experience in first year experience and orientation.
• Experience with budgeting and cost analysis.
• Experience developing strategic plans.
• Experience collaborating with a complex organizational structure.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight of New Student and Family Programs.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate orientation and first/second-year experiences.
• Direct staff and resources for parent and family programs and supervision.
• Provide advising/mentoring/coaching for staff and student leaders.
• Oversee program assessment, data collection, and alignment with divisional goals.
