Job summary

The Cincinnati Insurance Companies are offering a Summer 2027 Future Insurance Professionals program at our headquarters in Fairfield, OH. This three-week internship provides hands-on training in personal, commercial, and excess & surplus lines, with opportunities to shadow underwriters, loss control, and claims staff.

You will gain exposure to agent–carrier relationships and the daily operations of a major U.S. insurer.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at an accredited college/university (sophomore, junior, or senior as of Fall 2026).
• Majors welcome to apply.
• Collegiate transcripts required with submission of candidate profile (unofficial acceptable).
• Cumulative GPA 3.0 or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a 3-week program with hands-on training and classes.
• Shadow underwriting teams for Commercial Lines, Personal Lines, and Excess & Surplus.
• Observe accounts being underwritten and interact with claims and loss control staff.
• Build relationships between agents and carriers through experiences and lessons.

Job description

The Cincinnati Insurance Companies are currently seeking undergraduate participants for the Summer 2027 Future Insurance Professionals program based at our headquarters in Fairfield, OH. This immersive opportunity is a joint program between The Cincinnati Insurance Companies and our independent agencies.

During this program, we will provide three weeks of hands‑on training and classes. Participants receive high-level overviews of personal and commercial insurance and spend time on underwriting teams to observe how accounts are underwritten. You will have the opportunity to shadow Commercial Lines, Personal Lines, and Excess & Surplus Lines underwriters, along with Claims and Loss Control associates. Participants will experience valuable lessons and gain relationship knowledge between agents and carriers through interactions.

This is a 3-week program set for May 17th- June 4th.

Eligible Candidates Are

• enrolled as a full-time, undergraduate student at an accredited college/university at the sophomore, junior, or senior standing (as of Fall 2026 semester)
• all majors are welcome to apply
• collegiate transcripts required with submission of candidate profile (unofficial are acceptable)
• in good academic standing (cumulative GPA: 3.0 or higher preferred)

The pay rate for this position is $16.00 per hour.
