Job summary

Oregon State University is seeking a Part-time Student Project Assistant to support the Division of Research and Innovation. The role assists the Operations Manager and admin/finance teams with a range of duties, including SOP updates, onboarding/offboarding, HR communications, and event planning.

The position emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and strong communication. Hours range 10–24 per week, with in-office responsibilities and flexible scheduling to accommodate class timetables.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Demonstrable ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexible, able to take on projects that are unfamiliar.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio).
• Must be academically enrolled in a college or university.

Responsibilities

• 40% Administrative Support: update SOPs, onboarding/offboarding processes, training updates, candidate communications, employee events, and calendar management.
• 40% Operational Support: process financial checks, invoice reconciliation, office updates, and project support.
• 10% Office Improvement Projects: support continued process improvements for the division.
• 10% Other Duties as Assigned: general duties as needed.
