Job summary

Ascension in Central Indiana is offering a student nursing role in the Adult Med Surg and Progressive Care Units. You will deliver direct bedside care under RN supervision, bridging classroom theory with clinical practice while enrolled in an accredited nursing program.

With a dedicated Preceptor, you will gain hands-on experience, learn clinical workflows, and focus on safe, high-quality patient care. Schedule options include Days or Nights, PRN, while you complete your nursing program.

Qualifications

• Must be accepted or enrolled into a Nursing program upon date of hire/transfer and begin classes within 90 days of date of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct bedside care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to bridge classroom learning with clinical practice.
• Collaborate with a dedicated Preceptor to deliver safe, high-quality patient care while gaining knowledge of clinical workflows.
• Engage in hands-on clinical competency development while enrolled in an accredited nursing program.

How you'll make an impact in this role

What minimum requirements you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • One or more of the following:
    • Instructor specializing in Basic Life Support obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Preferred Credential(s):
  • Nurse Aide.

Education

• High school diploma/GED required. Must be accepted or enrolled into a Nursing program upon date of hire/transfer and begin classes within 90 days of date of hire/transfer.
