Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; current enrollment in an accredited prelicensure nursing program with anticipated graduation within 12 months from start.
• Listed as Nursing Assistant I with NC DHHS; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Observes, collects, and documents patient information and reports significant changes to a nurse or provider.
• Assists patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge.
• Provides direct and indirect patient care per plan of care and supports RN partners.
• Aids in behavioral modification, de-escalation, and safety within the psychiatric setting.
