Job summary

The Kansas Geological Survey (KGS) on the University of Kansas Lawrence Campus is seeking a student worker to support its public library and archives operations. Duties include archiving state geological records, data entry, and providing in-person assistance to staff and library patrons.

Flexible start date; hours 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Responsibilities include data entry, archival scanning, and helping patrons with resources while supporting records management and customer

Qualifications

• Prior data entry experience as indicated in application materials.

Responsibilities

• Enter and maintain data in electronic databases with a high degree of accuracy.
• Scan historical and geological records for archival preservation and access.
• Review and proofread data entries and scanned documents to ensure completeness, accuracy, and quality.
• Sort, organize, and incorporate records into established filing systems.
• Maintain physical and electronic records according to archival standards.
• Assist with the retrieval and storage of records as needed.
• Communicate professionally with supervisors, staff, and library patrons.
