Job summary

The Kansas Geological Survey, located on West Campus, is seeking a student employee to support its public library and archives operations. Duties include archiving state geological records, data entry, and providing in-person assistance to staff and library patrons. Hours are 8:00 a.m.

to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with flexible scheduling within these hours. This hourly, non-exempt position requires prior data entry experience; start date is September 14, 2026; pay is $15.00 per hour;

Qualifications

• Prior experience with data entry.

Responsibilities

• Enter and maintain data in electronic databases with a high degree of accuracy.
• Scan historical and geological records for archival preservation and access.
• Review and proofread data entries and scanned documents to ensure completeness, accuracy, and quality.
• Perform additional administrative or library support duties as assigned.
