Job summary

The Kansas Geological Survey, located on West Campus, is seeking a student employee to support its public library and archives operations. Duties include archiving state geological records, data entry, and providing in-person assistance to staff and library patrons. Hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with flexible scheduling within these business hours.

The start date is flexible. This role offers hands-on experience in records digitization, organization, and customer service,

Qualifications

• Prior data entry experience.
• Ability to retrieve, transport, and file records up to 25 pounds.
• Availability to work shifts of at least two consecutive hours.

Responsibilities

• Digitize and enter data into electronic databases with high accuracy.
• Sort, organize, and incorporate records into established filing systems.
• Assist patrons and staff with information requests and resources.
• Perform additional archival or library support duties as directed.
