Job summary

Position Overview:

The School of Data Science at the University of Virginia seeks qualified student workers to assist with IT operations and support services. This role provides hands‑on exposure to enterprise systems, endpoint management, and cybersecurity practices.

Core Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update inventory records for Windows and macOS devices
• Assistin migration of devices to Microsoft Intune andJamf
• Provide Tier 1 technical support and troubleshoot issues
• Maintain and track loaner laptop devices
• Provide basic AV support and training of our spaces
• Monitor andassistwith remediation of security vulnerabilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Coursework or experience in IT or related field
• Familiarity with Intune,Jamf, or similar tools

Compensation:

$17/hr.

Minimum Qualifications:

Resume and Cover Letter required.

Currently enrolled University of Virginia student.

Basic knowledge of computer systems.

Strong communicationand organizational skills.

Physical Demands:

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
