Job description

The University of Virginia Department of Computer Science (CS) is seeking a Systems Engineer II to join our team. The Systems Engineer will work independently or collaboratively on long-term projects, designs, and overall maintenance of the existing computing environment and related services. Further, the candidate will provide helpdesk ticketing support through a ticking system to students, faculty, and staff in the CS department.

Minimum Requirements (only One Must Be Fulfilled)

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering or a related discipline, and at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Associate's Degree And 3 Years Of Relevant Experience.

High school diploma and 4 years of relevant experience.

Anticipated Hiring Range: $70,000 - $84,000.

This position will remain open until filled. This is a non-exempt level, benefited position. The University will perform background checks on all hires (if required) prior to employment. Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree required; may consider combination of relevant experience, education, certification(s) in lieu of degree.

Experience: 2+ years relevant professional experience required.

Licensure: None.

Physical Demands

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of computers. Occasionally requires traveling some distance to attend training programs. Must be capable of lifting 25 - 50 lbs .
