Job summary

ISO New England is seeking a Transmission Planning Intern to collaborate with engineers on modeling and analyzing the high‑voltage system across New England, using tools such as PSS E, Aspen, and TARA.

Help design the power grid of the future! As a Transmission Planning intern at ISO New England, you’ll work with engineers to model and analyze the high-voltage system that keeps electricity flowing across the region. About The Department

The Transmission Planning Department is responsible for Regional Transmission System Planning and Technical Transmission System Analysis for New England. The team plays a pivotal role in developing a clean, affordable, and reliable 21st-century regional electric grid.

The expected hourly range for this position is $19-$36 per hour, depending on your year in college. Interns are eligible for some paid time off benefits and have access to our wellness program. Our internships also provide interns with exposure to the energy industry, mentorships, and real‑world experience.

This is a U.S. based role. If the successful candidate resides outside of the U.S., relocation will be required.

To be eligible for an internship with ISO New England, a candidate must have completed at least the first year of college and be currently enrolled in a four year or graduate‑level academic program. Candidates must have the authority to work in the US on a permanent basis, without requiring sponsorship.
