Job summary

Robeson Community College seeks an Information Helpdesk & Switchboard Specialist to serve as the primary contact for students and the community. You will provide welcoming customer service, route calls, and guide individuals through admissions and campus processes.

Maintain knowledge of RCC programs and resources, assist with forms and online resources, and ensure FERPA compliance while connecting people to the right offices.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution.
• Customer service or other public-facing work experience.
• Demonstrated computer and technology skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary point of contact and College information resource for students, prospective students, families, visitors, employees, and community members.
• Provide welcoming, professional, and student-centered customer service in person and by telephone.
• Operate the College's primary telephone/switchboard function and accurately route calls.
• Assess inquiries and provide accurate information, assistance, or referrals.
• Maintain working knowledge of RCC programs, departments, and campus resources.
• Provide guidance regarding admissions, transcripts, financial aid, advising, and registration.
• Assist individuals with locating forms, webpages, and offices; maintain resources.
• Protect student information and confidentiality per FERPA.
