Job summary

CLS Living in Houston seeks a dynamic General Manager to lead a student housing community. You will oversee daily operations, develop staff, and drive financial performance while delivering best-in-class service to residents and partners.

As a customer-focused leader, you will manage leasing, maintenance, and vendor relations, oversee budgeting, occupancy targets (99%), and NOI growth, and collaborate with campus partners to strengthen community engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred OR 2–5 years of experience in student or multifamily housing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Entrata.
• Working knowledge of market rate and LIHTC programs, Fair Housing Laws, and EEO laws.
• Strong skills in staff recruitment and development, financial management, marketing strategy, scheduling, and operational oversight.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff development and foster a collaborative, professional environment.
• Oversee daily operations: leasing, maintenance, customer service, and vendor management.
• Manage budgets, financial reporting, and NOI growth; monitor variances.
• Maintain occupancy targets (99%+) and optimize collections (98%+).
• Plan and execute marketing, events, and partnerships to boost resident satisfaction.
