Job summary

University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee is seeking a work-study Peer Advisor for the Student Financial Service Center. You will provide high-level customer service to students and families by sharing accurate information about student finances across email, phone, and in person.

Responsibilities include assisting with financial aid applications, billing procedures, and student policies, while supporting staff and other departments. A flexible schedule and mentorship from professional staff are offered.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and experience in providing superior customer service.
• Ability to work under stressful conditions with a strong work ethic.
• Strong problem-solving, time management and conflict-resolution abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist students and families with the financial aid application process, billing and student financial policies via phone, email, and in-person contact.
• Support full-time staff with various projects as needed and collaborate with other departments.
• Maintain a clean and inviting reception area and contribute to a positive campus experience.
• Develop Panther Edge competencies, including critical thinking and effective communication.
