Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work in a multi‑cultural environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite operations and Web‑Browsing ability.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Excellent time and project management skills.
• Strong record‑keeping and assessment skills.
• Be available for all mandatory department training.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with completing their financial aid for classes and financial planning.
• Assist students in using Essex County College systems (Moodle, MYECC Portal, Web Services).
• Explain required documentation to students and provide guidance.
• Provide quality customer service to students.
• Perform general clerical activities related to financial aid services.
• Offer information about college programs and student resources.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve student issues.
• Interpret college policies to inform students of requirements and regulations.
• Make referrals to tutoring, crisis counseling, or other student services.
• Maintain confidentiality of student aid information and records.
• Participate in professional development opportunities.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of student records.
