Job summary

Herzing University is seeking a Financial Aid Advisor to support funding for students on the Minneapolis campus. The role involves counseling, packaging, processing, and awarding financial aid funds to meet students’ educational goals.

The position requires strong customer service, organization, and familiarity with Microsoft Office and student information systems. On-the-job training and a comprehensive benefits package are provided.

Qualifications

• Great customer services skills and experience.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent critical thinking skills.
• Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience/knowledge of Student Information Systems (CampusNexus & Regent preferred).
• Title IV administration/VA certifying official preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet with new students to understand funding needs and review eligibility for funding options.
• Utilize financial aid software to review student documents and finalize awards.
• Provide gap funding options and support students in meeting financial needs.
• Counsel students on financial literacy and responsible borrowing practices.
• Manage a student caseload and build relationships to support funding matters.
• Perform outreach for required documents, loan acceptance and past due balances.
• Revise awards due to changes in schedules or eligibility.
