The County of Simcoe is seeking a full-time post-secondary student for a co-op position in the Finance Department. This role involves processing invoices, preparing customer accounts, and performing general administrative tasks. Applicants must have strong communication skills and knowledge of accounting principles. The anticipated length of the position is from September to December 2025, offering a salary range of $18.34 to $21.82 per hour.
• Process and distribute daily incoming Finance Department mail (invoices, customer account payments, long-term care home courier bags, and a variety of other correspondence).
• Scan incoming utility, tax and purchase order invoices for accounts payable digital processing and P-Card statement back-up.
• Process accounts payable invoices (property taxes, utilities, and water bills).
• Prepare outgoing customer invoices (accounts receivable) and long-term care home courier bags for mailing.
• Receive transit bus vaults and prepare weekly transit cash deposits.
• Monitor and maintain the retention of Accounts Payable manual document uploads to SharePoint and URL attachment to SAP document (daily).
• Respond and fulfill enquiries for invoices, deposit bags, deposit books and other supplies for internal customers in various departments.
• Reconcile and audit transit vaults (bi-weekly), P-Card transaction taxes, donation receipts and various other administration transactions as required.
• Perform other general administrative tasks such as sorting documents, filing and updating work process guidelines.
•Must be a registered full-time post-secondary student in a formal co-op program.
• Must have completed a criminal reference check from within the last 6 months.
•Enrollment in an Accounting or Business Administration Program.
•Experience working in a Windows environment is required.
•Excellent writing, communication and organizational skills are a must.
•Software experience with Windows XP, MS Office, including Excel and Word, and Internet applications.
