J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College is seeking a part-time Student Engagement Specialist to support a welcoming campus environment and promote student growth and retention. The role coordinates engagement activities, mascot program, communications, and events, with responsibilities spanning scheduling, training, and procurement.

The position emphasizes collaboration with staff, use of technology for operations, and ongoing professional development to enhance student participation and success.

• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills; ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to coordinate student engagement activities and programs, including scheduling, logistics, participant communications, and follow-up.
• Effective oral and written communication skills; experience preparing, editing, and proofreading student communications and promotional materials.
• Proficiency in using computers, Microsoft Office applications, spreadsheets, and digital communication tools.
• Ability to follow procurement procedures, maintain records, and track purchases and program participation.
• Ability to interpret policies, maintain confidentiality, and report safety concerns.
• Demonstrated ability to establish positive working relationships and work independently and with others.
