Job summary

UC Davis Health’s Student Development Office seeks an experienced Manager to oversee operations for career advising, coaching, student groups and wellness programs. You will supervise full-time staff and assist the Director of Student Affairs and Associate Dean for Students.

The role coordinates events, scheduling, and budgets while collaborating with faculty, staff and students to foster a supportive, inclusive learning environment within the School of Medicine.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area and/ or relevant experience / training.
• At least 3 years experience in advising/counseling students (or a related role) in higher education or medical education.
• Experience managing or supporting events and programs, including scheduling and resource/budget management.
• Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and students, in a team-oriented environment.
• Familiarity with student management systems, learning management platforms, and other administrative office tools.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the academic environment of a professional school and the requests of students and faculty.
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
• Skills to analyze diverse information both qualitative and quantitative in nature, and direct/prepare analysis.
• Skills and abilities to read, understand, interpret, communicate, and execute applicable School of Medicine, University, State, and Federal policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently but also generate cooperation among faculty, staff, and students.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate educational and student climate support and coordination activities.
• Supervise and support the Student Services unit staff and activities.
