Job summary

DeVry University seeks a collections-focused professional to manage out-of-school student accounts, negotiate payment plans, and ensure compliant delinquency management. The role emphasizes CARE, student success, and adherence to FDCPA and related regulations.

The position supports a fast-paced, multi-system workflow, requiring strong communication and ethics. Training and development are provided, with opportunities for remote/hybrid work options within a nationwide team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma; some college coursework preferred.
• 3+ years of higher education or consumer collections experience.
• Outstanding customer service skills with 3+ years’ experience.
• Experience working in a call center environment.
• Knowledge of FDCPA, CFPB, UDAAP and related collection laws.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, TEAMS).
• Experience with Banner (ERP), Salesforce (CRM), and TouchNet is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversees out-of-school student accounts collection portfolio to secure payments and reduce open receivables.
• Handles inbound calls, outbound calls, and emails to cure accounts and negotiate repayment terms.
• Manages collection workflows to recover past due balances and improve recoveries.
• Upholds FDCPA, CFPB, UDAAP and related regulations across all collection activities.
• Supports testing and cross-department collaboration for optimal results.
