Job summary

Community HigherEd is seeking a professional Career Advisor to support students and graduates in identifying, preparing for, and securing employment in their field of study. You will deliver career coaching, resume development, and job-search strategies while partnering with local employers to create opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Associate Degree preferred
• Experience in career advising, workforce development, staffing/recruiting, or job placement services preferred
• Familiarity with FERPA and confidentiality requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and group career advising to students and graduates, including resume development, job search strategies, and professionalism.
• Build and maintain employer relationships to facilitate opportunities, internships, and externships.
• Analyze student qualifications, experience, and outcomes to match candidates with job placements.
• Stay current on local, regional, and national labor market trends and opportunities.
• Use digital platforms to promote opportunities and monitor student engagement.
• Coordinate, market, and host career events such as job fairs and workshops.
• Track and report placement outcomes and employer satisfaction to ensure accreditation and goals.
• Collaborate with academic departments to align career services with student success.
