Job summary

Coe College is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as Student Accounts Manager. This role oversees all aspects of student accounts receivable, billing, collections, and related reporting.

You will work with Financial Aid and campus offices to resolve issues and ensure accurate postings to the general ledger. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and at least three years of relevant experience, with strong customer service and data-entry skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance or related field is required.
• Minimum of three years of related work experience.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Successful completion of a background check per policy.

Responsibilities

• Manage student accounts receivable, including billing, payments, adjustments, refunds, past-due balances, and other activity.
• Serve as primary contact for students and families regarding billing, loans, and account questions in person/phone/email.
• Research and resolve student account concerns with Financial Aid and campus offices.
• Generate and review billing statements, AR aging reports, reconcile to GL and provide updates to Finance leadership.
• Review and reconcile financial aid, private loans, outside scholarships, and funds applied to student accounts.
• Manage collection activity for past-due accounts and coordinate with external agencies and loan servicers.
• Administer and reconcile federal student loan programs, reporting and compliance activities.
• Oversee online payment systems for student accounts and designated college programs.
• Serve as School Certifying Official for VA education benefits and administer tuition insurance process.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, reports, and IRS Form 1098-T filings.
• Maintain records per FERPA and policies; support process improvements.
• Assist Controller with annual external audit and financial reporting requirements.
• Supervise and train student employees; perform other duties as assigned.
