Job summary

Commonwealth Charter Academy in Wyomissing, PA is seeking an Attendance, Communication, and Engagement Specialist to support compulsory school attendance and learner engagement. You will coordinate with teachers and administrators to monitor attendance, communicate requirements to families, and implement engagement plans.

The role requires collaboration with school staff to identify barriers, travel to families as needed, and ensure timely documentation and action according to state codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Residence in Pennsylvania preferred or required.
• Familiarity with Pennsylvania Public School Code helpful.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to travel including overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of attendance and engagement requirements.
• Communicate attendance and engagement policies to families.
• Evaluate attendance data and respond per protocols.
• Contact learners at risk of noncompliance.
• Send and record written communications to learners and caretakers.
• Schedule and participate in conferences with learners, families, and school staff.
• Identify barriers to attendance and engagement and coordinate supports.
• Develop and communicate improvement plans to learners and caregivers.
• Track compliance and respond per protocols.
• Conduct home and community visits as needed.
• Refer to community resources or county agencies as required.
• File citations and attend truancy hearings.
