Christopher Newport University seeks an Education Support Specialist II to provide individualized guidance and mentoring to student-athletes under the SATS unit. The role emphasizes collaboration with coaches and staff to promote retention, academic achievement, and successful transitions beyond athletics.

The position is hourly, part-time, and eligible for telework. Requirements include a high school diploma, mentorship experience, and a bachelor’s degree with counseling credits.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience providing guidance or mentorship to students.
• Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, or related fields; 18 credits in counseling/advising.

Responsabilidades

• Implement individualized, high-quality support under the Director’s guidance to foster student development.
• Promote retention and persistence; facilitate successful transitions of first- and second-year student-athletes.
• Collaborate with coaches, staff, and SATS team to deliver programming and outreach.
