Job summary

ReNEW Schools is seeking a Student/Athlete Academic Advisor for the AthLife Program to guide student-athletes toward academic success and timely graduation across partner campuses in Hartford area. The role emphasizes NCAA eligibility understanding and close coordination with coaches, faculty, and university support services.

The advisor will develop individualized academic plans, monitor progress, and provide proactive support within a collaborative, fast-paced school environment.

Qualifications

• Preferred course and/or work experience in Education, Counseling, Sports Management and athletic administration.
• Preferred understanding of NCAA academic eligibility rules and regulations (Divisions I, II, or III, as applicable).
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport and effectively communicate with diverse student populations, coaches, faculty, and administrators.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop individualized academic plans for student-athletes.
• Monitor academic progress and graduation timelines.
• Collaborate with coaches, faculty, and university support services.
• Provide proactive academic advising and support within NCAA guidelines.
• Assist in preparing and facilitating workshops for families, athletes and stakeholders.
