Job summary

A local educational institution is looking for coaches for Spring Athletic Coaching Positions for the 2025-2026 school year. Coaches will develop and improve student-athletes through effective coordination of practice and competitions, emphasizing discipline and sportsmanship. Ideal candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in education, have relevant coaching experience, and maintain current CPR and coaching certifications. Together we aim to foster a positive and spirited athletic program.

Qualifications

• Three years successful experience in the identified coaching area.
• Successful experience in working with staff, students and parents in an urban setting.
• Knowledge of Hartford Public Schools’ regulations regarding coaching and athletics.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing development of coaching student-athletes.
• Help each student achieve a high level of skill and appreciation for discipline.
• Coordinate, plan, evaluate and implement coaching programs.

Skills

Ability to establish written rules and regulation

Ability to enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior

Ability to coach individual participants in skills

Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills

Education

Bachelor’s degree in education or related field

Current Coaching Permit issued by the CT State Department of Education
