The State Controller's Office (SCO) is seeking to hire motivated and dependable IT Student Assistants to serve as members of the SCO Service Desk (SSD) team assigned as the primary division contacts for the Executive Office (EO), Information Systems Division (ISD), the Administration and Disbursements Division's (ADD) and Special Project's (Fi$Cal). The incumbents will act as a first level service desk support associates providing technical assistance for many associated hardware/software components used by the previously listed divisions.

This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. Students must be enrolled in at least: 12 semester units or 12 quarter units for undergraduate students; eight-semester units or eight quarter units for graduate students. Students declared major must match the major(s) listed in the job posting and students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher .
Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or other Information Technology (IT) related majors.
F lexible workdays and work hours, Monday – Friday, between 8 AM – 5 PM. The final work schedule will be determined by the supervisor.
Student Assistant and Graduate Assistant employees generally work up to 24 hours per workweek (Sunday – Saturday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per workweek during breaks; (winter, spring, and summer).
$18.00 - $26.00 per hour.
The student assistant will support Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft Desktop suite of tools, imaging software, some encryption software applications and smartphones. As a member of SSD they will be an active participant in the SCO Customer Experience to ensure satisfaction throughout the enterprise.
