DescriptionThe State Controller's Office is seeking to hire two (2) student assistants to work part-time in our Audits Operations Bureau, which audits all claims/vouchers for correctness, legality, and availability of funds. Both Student Assistants will be assigned to verify claims/vouchers for compliance with California's Constitution and various other applicable laws and regulations . The Student Assistants will learn state and local government accounting and/or program compliance.
In this role, the students will have an opportunity to gain effective communication, critical thinking, professional etiquette, and audit related skills.
This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. Students must be enrolled in at least: 12 semester units or 12 quarter units for Undergraduate Students; 8 semester units or 12 quarter units for Graduate Students. Students declared major must match the major(s) listed in the job posting and students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Business, Auditing, Finance, Statistics, Math or Accounting.
Hybrid work schedule . F lexible workdays and work hours, Monday – Friday, between 8 AM – 5 PM. The final work schedule will be determined by the supervisor .
Student Assistant and Graduate Assistant employees generally work up to 24 hours per workweek (Sunday – Saturday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per workweek during breaks; (winter, spring, and summer).
$18.00 - $26.00 per hour.
Work is performed in a hybrid environment.
