Job summary

Proviso Township High Schools District 209 is seeking a SADD sponsor at Proviso West High School to organize and supervise a student club, aligning with district mission and safety protocols.

The sponsor mentors students, coordinates activities, and ensures academic balance while complying with IHSA and district policies. This is a stipend, extra-duty assignment contingent on enrollment and funding.

Responsibilities

• Provide active and effective supervision for all club-related activities, including meetings, events, field trips, and practices, ensuring student safety and compliance with school conduct and safety protocols.
• Ensure all off-campus activities are approved through district procedures and appropriate permission slips and transportation arrangements are completed.
• As a mandated reporter under Illinois law, comply with training and reporting obligations pursuant to 325 ILCS 5/4 and Board policy.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the activity by preparing students for participation, defining expectations, and offering constructive feedback.
• Coordinate logistics and facility usage with appropriate school personnel to ensure well-organized events.
• Promote student involvement by modeling positive interpersonal relationships and encouraging respectful interactions.
