Job summary

Proviso West High School in Hillside, IL seeks an Athletics/Activities Sponsor to organize, supervise, and promote student clubs in alignment with district goals. You will mentor students, coordinate with staff, ensure safety, and maintain compliance with policies.

This stipend position is non-tenure, extra-duty, contingent on enrollment and funding, and may be discontinued at district discretion. The sponsor will work closely with the Director of Athletics and Activities to support student

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills in a school setting.
• Willingness to take responsibility for all duties of the sponsor position.
• Preference given to PTU bargaining unit members when qualifications are equal.

Responsibilities

• Provide active supervision for club activities, meetings, events, and practices ensuring safety.
• Ensure off-campus activities are approved and that all required permissions and transportation are arranged per district policy.
• As a mandated reporter, comply with training and reporting obligations per Illinois law.
• Prepare students for participation by clarifying expectations and offering constructive feedback.
