Job summary

Southern Methodist University invites applications for a Student Accounts Advisor on-campus role. You will counsel students and families on financial accounts, post payments, and coordinate with Financial Aid to help students pay their bills while maintaining FERPA compliance.

The role emphasizes a student-centered approach, confidentiality, and collaboration across campus to support enrollment goals. Some evenings/weekends may be required during peak periods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's is required.
• A degree in Accounting or Business Administration is preferred.
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience is required.
• Some experience with student financial services is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Counsel students and parents regarding their financial accounts.
• Post payments daily by cash or check and process transactions.
• Collaborate with Financial Aid Advisors and colleges to help students pay their bills.
• Aim to facilitate zero balances for student accounts.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with FERPA and HEA regulations.
• Represent Student Financial Services in committees and other duties.
