Southern Methodist University is seeking an on-campus Student Accounts Advisor to counsel students and families on financial accounts, payments, and options. This in-person role involves daily processing of payments and collaboration with Financial Aid and campus partners to minimize balances.

You will handle sensitive information with confidentiality per FERPA/HEA and contribute to enrollment-support initiatives, scheduling, and outreach as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Accounting or Business Administration degree preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience; student financial services preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Strong written communication and customer service orientation.
• Problem solving, organizational, planning and time management skills.

Responsabilités

• Counsel students and parents on payments and student accounts and manage a caseload of past due balances.
• Post payments daily and process deposits; maintain confidentiality per FERPA and HEA.
• Collaborate with Financial Aid and campus partners to resolve account issues and support enrollment goals.
• Explain cost of attendance, billing, disbursement dates, and payment options to students and families.
