Job summary

Oregon State University is seeking a part-time student accountant to support the Cashiering of Treasury Operations. The role assists with reception desk greeting, data entry, deposit processing, and account research, handling OSU deposit activity, cash handling, and electronic receipt compliance.

You will work with students and clubs, process payments mailed for student accounts and veterinary hospital clients, and gain practical office experience in a busy campus finance unit.

Qualifications

• Ability to complete accurate data entry.
• Ability to concentrate on detailed projects and provide status updates on progress toward completion.
• Willing and able to be customer facing for in person interactions.
• Demonstrable examples of being flexible with the type and volume of work, as certain times of the term will require focused high volume data entry, and other times this position will support the office with general office support.

Responsibilities

• Assist students, student clubs and departments across campus at office service windows.
• Communicate regularly with students and departments in person as well as via phone and email.
• Sort incoming USPS and OSU mail for processing and posting.
• Process returned mail.
• Prepare received payments for data entry/depositing, reconcile and balance accordingly.
• Record maintenance and administrative support: document filing, updating Excel reports and transaction logs.
• General office support.
• Other duties as assigned.
