Job summary

Pasco School District No. 1 is seeking a Specialized Program Paraeducator for the Structured Learning Classroom at Frost Elementary in Pasco, WA.

The role supports instructional and behavioral interventions, with a focus on ABA techniques and communication support for students with special needs. The position is on-site at Frost Elementary with 6.75 hours per day on most days, 180-day calendar, and a salary range of $23.12–$25.92 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bilingual and/or biliterate (Spanish) preferred.
• Must meet one or more of the following: AA/AS or 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits or passing score on ETS paraeducator assessment.
• Experience working with students with special needs preferred but not required.
• Willingness to obtain First Aid and/or CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Support instruction and behavior interventions using ABA techniques as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Facilitate communication using AAC devices and other tools under guidance.
• Use de-escalation strategies per the student’s plan and CPI techniques.
• Deliver individualized or small group instruction and monitor engagement.
• Provide first aid when needed and assist with student safety.
