Job summary

Pasco School District 1 in Pasco, WA, seeks a Specialized Program Paraeducator (SLC) for Robert Frost Elementary. The role supports ABA-based instruction, AAC communication, safety protocols, and individualized student support daily.

The position offers a 180-day calendar with a 6.75-hour day on most days and additional pay scales for degree levels. Starting date is To Be Determined with an application deadline that closes when filled.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Bilingual and/or Biliterate (Spanish) preferred.
• Must meet one of: Associates degree or 72 credits or ETS paraeducator assessment.
• Prior paraeducator or related experience preferred.
• CP I trained or willing to attend training.

Responsibilities

• Support instruction and behavior interventions using ABA techniques as directed by the teacher.
• Facilitate communication using AAC devices and pictorial systems.
• Use de-escalation strategies and follow behavior support plans for safety.
• Deliver small group or one-on-one instruction and monitor engagement.
• Assist with classroom management and prepare instructional materials.
• Provide supervision during arrival, dismissal, and transitions, and support testing as directed.
